The Nansen Project
Refugee use case
The voluntary or forced decision to flee your country and home must be one of the most horrible and frightening experiences one could imagine. Proving who you are, where you are from, how you reached a place of safety; your journey, as well as providing information about your health, occupation and maintaining evidence of what you own, may be critical to a new beginning.
Nansen provides a platform for people preparing to undertake this journey. All identifying documentation, records, photographs, videos, and anything else needed upon reaching a destination can be uploaded, protected, transmitted, and stored, knowing theses records are available when required.
Build a profile of who you are, what you have achieved and what you own, include anything and everything you have, as there are no limitations. The documentation or information may be notarised, or not, and may be in the form of scanned documents, photographs, video recordings or any other format.
Do you have any of the following:
copy of a birth certificate, passport, drivers’ or other licence, Identity card, anything official that has you photograph or something that shows who you are? Photographs of your home, of your family and community.
what do you know about your health? Copy of vaccination records, a health file, name of a hospital or clinic that may hold your records or medical information, do you know where you were born? Was your birth formally recorded?
- Financial information
do you have a bank account or any financial records?
- Qualifications, certificates, education records
do you have any certificates, school photographs, anything else?
- Asset records or photographs of anything you have.
- A record of the journey you have taken
from your homeland to your destination or place of safety. This may be a video, photographs or journal.
- Anything else that shows who you are, where you are from and what you own.
